The lounge towel you're lying on is woven from recycled ocean bound plastic. We are SUN'Y, a Newport Beach brand that makes beach essentials from plastic we pull out of the waste stream before it reaches the ocean. Here is the story, in the time it takes the sun to move.

Lido House is an Ocean Friendly Hotel, and they asked us to make the poolside towels from something better than virgin plastic. Every piece you see started as plastic bottles, collected near a coastline, before the tide could take them. The longer version is below, for as long as you feel like reading.
the plastic-saving story
It is not magic and it is not complicated. It is just specific.
01 · what it is
Recycled ocean bound plastic is plastic collected near a coastline, where the local waste system would otherwise let it slip into the sea. Partners gather the bottles, then shred, wash, and spin them into a strong fabric thread, the same kind you would find in a good outdoor jacket.
02 · how we divert it
We do not pull plastic out of the water. We work with partners who intercept it on land first, which is what keeps it out of the ocean. The bottles are weighed and traced at every step, so the number on each piece is a real count, not a guess.
03 · what it becomes
The chair fabric, the beach towel, and the umbrella canopy are all woven from the same recycled ocean bound plastic, tested for sun, salt, and wear. The piece you are using right now is the one you would want anyway. It just costs the ocean less to make.
That is a count by certified weight, not a slogan. This lounge towel runs a little bigger than the beach towels we sell, which save 26 bottles each from the same fabric. We do not claim it cleans the ocean. It prevents the bottles from getting there, which is the part we can actually prove.
